Primitive Camping at Tekakwitha
Camp Tekakwitha has a large, open, reasonably flat field for tent camping. There are three portable toilets and access to modern toilets at the hall building. The hall building also has two showers for the use of campers. If a group is using the hall building for a meeting you may not be permitted to access the bathrooms.
Ground fires are permitted only in burn pits already established. Groups are not permitted to create new pits. We recommend you bring gas or charcoal (off the ground) stoves for cooking.
The camping area includes three adirondacks with spaces for four campers on plywood platforms. There are no mattresses. The adirondacks are usually limited adult supervisors. If you are sharing the camping area with other groups, you will be assigned one adirondack.
Campers, RVs are not permitted. We have no hookups. There are no electrical outlets available.
Usually campers use the toilets at the meeting hall. There are 5 modern toilets and 2 showers at the hall. There are 3 portable toilets in the field. If you rent one of the bunk houses, the bathrooms in the bunk house would be limited to those who are staying in the bunk house.
